SC Model

I think that the Project Approach or Reggio-Emilia models would work best for me. I like the idea that the learning emerges from students' interests. I currently work at a preschool where they use the Creative Curriculum approach. It works, but I don't really like it. The activities and learning that the students partake in are interesting to the students. However, it is guided by the teachers. I appreciate students' interests above all else and feel like they learn most that way.

  1. I also like the idea of students' interests being a part of the teaching that goes on in the classroom. When students' interests are incorporated in their learning process it makes them more interested to learn.

I'm not really sure how I feel about the Reggio-Emilia model in an American school, just because I don't think that it would satisfy any of the state mandated curriculum effectively. Although, I do think it is important for students to be able to express themselves and learn through their creativity, which is something that the Reggio-Emilia approach definitely satisfies.
